Langley FCU Awards $20,000 in Scholarships
NEWPORT NEWS, VA — Langley Federal Credit Union presented four deserving young members with the Galaxy Graduate $5,000 College Scholarship award for academic achievement. The four winners are Clinton Thomas Yeaman, Allison Wai-Yun Mui, Yvonne Yang Mack and Vinh T. Nguyen.

Clinton Thomas Yeaman will graduate from Tabb High School. He has volunteered at the Peninsula Rescue Mission for the last two years where he has spent his summers volunteering in hospital clinics with the American Red Cross. Clinton plans to devote his life to the prevention and cure of cancer by becoming an Oncologist.
Allison Wai-Yun Mui will graduate from Hampton Roads Academy. She is ranked number one in her class and is one of seven selected interns for the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility High School Scholars Internship Program. Allison will major in chemistry and plans to become an Oncologist.
Yvonne Yang Mack is also ranked number one in her Tabb High School class and is an AP Scholar with Distinction. Her passion is biology, which she plans to use in her career goal of becoming a dentist.
Vinh T. Nguyen graduates from Tabb High School and plans to earn a master's degree in engineering. He is ranked number two in his class and is a member of the Honor Society. Vinh plans to pursue a career in engineering, either in the field of biomedical or environmental.
The Galaxy Graduate Award is one of the benefits afforded to members of LFCU's Constellation Club. The club is designed for children through the age of 18 and provides a tool for parents to teach their children the importance of financial responsibility.
