LFCU earthquake relief contributions total $5,460
NEWPORT NEWS, VA — Through the generosity of its members and the community, Langley Federal Credit Union has raised a total of $5,460 for earthquake relief in Haiti. LFCU matched all funds contributed dollar for dollar through February. The funds will be sent to the American Red Cross Haiti Relief & Development.
On January 12, a series of earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 6.5 to 7.3 devastated Haiti. The American Red Cross is working with its partners in the global Red Cross and Red Crescent network, including the Haitian Red Cross, and other partners to assist those affected by this disaster.
Contributions to the American Red Cross Haiti Relief & Development fund will support emergency relief and recovery efforts to help those people affected by the earthquake in Haiti, and may include deploying personnel, sending relief supplies, or providing financial resources.
